How We Help You

Dentist Lawyer Michael CarabashWe help dentists complete their Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Letters of Intent (for buying / selling a dental practice) using our online automated software.  Designed by dental lawyers for Ontario dentists.  We want dentists to save time and money and avoid future legal headaches by having these key documents in place.  Click on a link below to learn more about:

Employment Agreements for your Team Members
Wills for Dentists WITHOUT a Professional Corporation
Wills for Dentists WITH a Professional Corporation
Powers of Attorney for Property / Finances
Powers of Attorney for Personal Care
Letters of Intent for Buying / Selling a Dental Practice

Employment Agreements for your Team Members

If you are a dentist with your own practice, you NEED to have written employment agreements in place.  Thankfully, you can now use the Contract Wizard to create employment agreements for your receptionist, hygienist, assistant, office manager, etc.  By having a written employment agreement, you will help protect your business, implement best practices, and manage expectations.  Without a written employment agreement, you could be exposing yourself to paying THOUSANDS of dollars in termination costs AND seeing your staff leave and take patients with them when they do!

Wills for Dentists WITHOUT a PC

If you are a dentist but you do NOT have a Professional Corporation, you can use the Will-O-Matic Wizard to create a single Last Will and Testament.  By having a Will, you can appoint someone to be responsible for your estate when you pass away, make specific gifts to your beneficiaries, and name someone to be responsible for your minor children.  Without a Will, you won’t be able to do any of these things!  The best part of all: when you use the Will-O-Matic Wizard to create your Last Will, you get free bonuses, such as:

  1. FREE Signing Instructions (so you execute the Will properly)
  2. FREE eBook (so you can learn about Wills in Ontario
  3. FREE edits for 1 year
  4. FREE Lawyer-Review by DMC LLP (just contact us!)

You might also wish to have a Professional Corporation (for reducing your liability and income-tax saving purposes).  If you do have a Professional Corporation, see below…

Wills for Dentists WITH a PC

If you are a dentist AND you DO have a Professional Corporation, you can use the Will-O-Matic Wizard to create a Primary / Corporate Will AND a Secondary / Non-Corporate Will.  By having these dual Wills, you can save on estate administration taxes, appoint someone to be responsible for your estate when you pass away, make specific gifts to your beneficiaries, and name someone to be responsible for your minor children.

POA for Property / Finances

Along with a Will or Dual Wills (see above), every dentist needs to have a Power of Attorney for Property / Finances in place if they end up being unable to communicate their wishes.  And you can create this important legal document using our Power of Attorney Wizard.  This may happen if a dentist travels overseas and needs someone local to look after their financial affairs and / or property.  Or this could happen, heaven forbid, if a dentist ends up being mentally incapacitated due to an illness or accident.  Remember: you don’t have to give authority to someone over ALL of your property / finances.  You can limit their authority to one piece of property (e.g. your shares in your professional corporation) if you want.  The best part of all: when you use the Power of Attorney Wizard to create your Power of Attorney for Property / Finances, you get free bonuses, such as:

  1. FREE Signing Instructions (so you execute the Power of Attorney properly)
  2. FREE edits for 90 days
  3. FREE Lawyer-Review by DMC LLP (just contact us!)

POA for Personal Care

Along with a Will or Dual Wills (see above), and your Power of Attorney for Property / Finances (see above), every dentist needs to have a Power of Attorney for Personal Care in place if they end up being unable to communicate their wishes concerning their personal care if / when they become incapacitated.  And you can create this important legal document using our Power of Attorney Wizard.   Your personal care deals with things like shelter, nutrition, hygiene, safety, etc.  Remember: you don’t have to give authority to someone over ALL of your personal care decisions.  You can limit their authority to one aspect of your personal care.  The best part of all: when you use the Power of Attorney Wizard to create your Power of Attorney for Personal Care, you get free bonuses, such as:

  1. FREE Signing Instructions (so you execute the Power of Attorney properly)
  2. FREE edits for 90 days
  3. FREE Lawyer-Review by DMC LLP (just contact us!)

LOIs for Buying / Selling a Dental Practice
